Reports in recent weeks have claimed that Real were ready to part ways with their academy graduate in order to fund the signing of Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain.

However today’s line from Spain insists the 22-year-old who is currently representing his nation at the World Cup is still regarded as an important player for the future at the Bernabeu.
And Los Merengues will request face-to-face talks in order to convince Asensio of his role in the side next season.
The Spanish giants' new stance is sure to worry Liverpool, who are looking to splash the cash after missing out on France midfielder Nabil Fekir.
