Bamaiyi fumes, says Buhari's administration is a colossal failure

- The national secretary of the Young Progressive Party (YPP), Vidiyeno Bamaiyi, has described the President Muhammadu Buhari's administration as a failure

- Bamaiyi said President Buhari has failed to deliver his promises to Nigerians

- He however commended the present government efforts in creating jobs

The national secretary of the Young Progressive Party (YPP), Vidiyeno Bamaiyi, has said that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari has failed to deliver its promises to Nigerians.

Speaking as a guest on the Channels Television's morning show on Monday, October 23, Bamaiyi said the present administration failed in restoring Nigeria's economy.

The YPP chieftain said many Nigerians were carried away by the bogus promises made by the All Progressives Congress party during the 2015 election campaigns.

He said: “No sooner had we elected them that we discovered that they were completely clueless. They had no idea how to run the government and they were overwhelmed with the nuances of government."

Decrying the continued borrowing by the present administration, Bamaiyi said, the idea of borrowing to fix the economy during the recession shows how incompetent the President Buhari-led administration is.

“I think this government is a colossal failure. I think what this government should do is to completely resign and call for elections earlier than 2019.

“Nigerians know better now and will not be carried away by lofty promises that politicians come to make," Bamaiyi said.

However, commending the present government for the effort in creating jobs, the YPP chieftain said more can be done to reduce the rate of unemployment in Nigeria.

He said the YPP is focused on igniting a revolution among Nigerian youths which will spur the sack of old politicians who have been ruling Nigeria for ages.

“What we are seeking to do at the Young Progressive Party is to ignite a youth revolution. We believe so much in the youths and so we want the young people of this country to take over governance at all levels – from the state, federal, local government.

“We want every unit of government to be taken over by young people. We are just catalysts for that kind of revolution. It is a revolution without guns or weapons; it is a revolution with the ballot box. And it will be achieved, that is the cardinal principle for which we stand.

“The young people have great ideas that will transform this nation. We are sick and tired of the old politicians who have been in leadership all these years.

Since I was a small child, they told me that I would be a leader of tomorrow. Today they are still telling me I am a leader of tomorrow. The same old people that have been in leadership all along when we were children,” he added.

NAIJ.com earlier reported that a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Umar Ardo, had said that Nigerians still feel insecure despite the effort made by the Buhari's administration to decimate Boko Haram terrorists.

Ardo described the war against corruption by President Buhari as superficial.

He said the present administration was losing the fight against corruption and that he could not score the President Buhari's regime above average on the economy.
