President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated current World Boxing Association (WBA) and International Boxing Federation (IBF) heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua over his victory against Carlos Takam.

The president goodwill message was conveyed by the minister of sports and youth development, Barrister Solomon Dalung who met the heavyweight champion after the fight.

Dalung disclosed that he made Joshua understand how much the government and the people of Nigeria are proud of his achievements.

NAIJ.com had earlier reported that Anthony Joshua defeated challenger Carlos Takam to retained his WBA and IBF heavyweight titles on Saturday, October 28, at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.
