FG names Abdul-Akaba Sumaila, sole administrator Ajaokuta Steel Complex

- Federal government has named Abdul-Akaba Sumaila the sole administrator of the Ajaokuta Steel Complex

- Kayode Fayemi, the minister of mines and steel development, announced the appointment

- Sumaila replaced Joseph Isah, who retired from the civil service in September

Kayode Fayemi, the minister of mines and steel development, has announced the appointment of Abdul-Akaba Sumaila, as the acting sole administrator of the Ajaokuta Steel Complex.

Sumaila replaced Joseph Isah, who retired from the civil service in September, having attained the mandatory 35 years in service.

NAIJ.com gathered this in a statement signed by Olayinka Oyebode, special assistant on media to the minister of mines and steel development.

He was until his appointment, a senior advisor, government relations with Shell Petroleum Development Company.

He holds a Bachelor of Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, from the University of Ilorin, Ilorin, and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Business School Netherlands.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that Rotimi Amaechi, the minister of transportation, on Monday, August 8 said the Itakpe-Ajaokuta-Warri standard gauge rail lines would start commercial operation in June 2018.
