The retired police officers who were affected by the 1967-1970 civil war have said that the unity of Nigeria is sacrosanct.
These affected officers said the Biafra war and its agitation is over forever.
Speaking to journalists on Tuesday, October 24, the president of the Association of Retired War Affected Police Officers (ARWAPO), Matthew Udeh, said the war is over forever.
Udeh also thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for approving the disbursement of pension to the police officers who had served during the Biafra-Nigeria civil war.

Udeh said the officers believe all Nigerians are one.
He said: “We believe we are all one, one Nigeria forever. The war is over and over forever.
“God will continue to bless President Muhammadu Buhari for looking at the nation as one indivisible entity.
“I feel fulfilled today. The whole ARWAPO members are full of gratitude to Mr President for hearing our cry for over 40 years and running.”

NAIJ.com earlier reported that President Buhari approved the payment of pension to police officers who served under the defunct Republic of Biafra during the war.
The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) said the payment of the police officers will commence this month - October.

These officers were dismissed after the end of the civil war but were later pardoned by the former president Olusegun Obasanjo's regime.
