Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has approved the purchase of vehicles worth N390 million for members of the state House of Assembly.
Premium Times reports that the Ondo state government revealed that 26 units of vehicles were approved for the lawmakers although the brands were not revealed.

The 2017 approved budget revealed that the 26 vehicles meant for the 26 lawmakers would cost the state a total of N390 million.
The budget signed by Governor Akeredolu, also has a provision for the purchase of pilot vehicles and escorts vehicles for the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker with a total sum of N48million and that each set of pilot and escort would cost N24million.

Wale Akinteriwa who is the state commissioner of finance spoke after the state executive council meeting on Thursday, October 5 where he confirmed that had “decided to acquire the 26 vehicles for all members of the State House of Assembly.”
NAIJ.com had reported that Federal lawmakers say they have done nothing wrong by buying themselves exotic automobiles at a whopping cost of about N6.1bn.
According to The Punch, chairman of the House of Representatives committee on media and public affairs Abdulrazak Namdas, who justified the expenses, claimed that it was a global practice. “People should get this thing right; the order for the cars was not recent.
"The issue of 360 cars has been there in the last nine months. We actually took delivery of 50 of the cars about nine months ago.
