Many Nigerian footballers are among the richest men in Nigeria considering the wages they collect at their respective clubs in Europe and other parts of the world.

But despite the millions many of them have raked into their accounts through the round leather game, some are now investing in businesses and getting ready for life after football.

Here we bring you 5 Nigerian footballers who have excelled in the game and their side businesses.

1. Ahmed Musa

Super Eagles striker Ahmed Musa now has a filling station and also recently built a N500 million sports and fitness centre in Hotoro GRA, Kano.

The facility is designed to have two five-a-side pitches, a gymnasium, lounge, restaurant and a large multipurpose events hall, and was officially opened to the public on June 15, 2017.

2. Obafemi Martins

Striker Obafemi Martins is also a Nigerian footballer who has made so much money playing football.

Martins currently earns £100,000 per week at Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua, and he is also into car importation and real estate investment.

3. Mikel Obi

Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel made so much money during his playing days at reigning Premier League champions Chelsea where he played for 10 years before moving to China.

The Tianjin Teda midfielder is running an inter-state transport company in Jos, Plateau state and also bankrolls the record label MMM (Matured Money Minds) records which was launched in 2012 and have signed a number of upcoming Nigerian artistes.

4. Emmanuel Emenike

Emmanuel Emenike is a 30-year-old Nigerian football striker who currently plays for Olympiacos and he is also one of the richest Nigerian footballers playing in Europe.

Emenike owns E29 Records, a Lagos-based outfit specialized in promoting up-and-coming and established artistes in Nigeria and across the globe. He also owns E29 real estate investment that built eight terrain estates in Owerri, Imo State.

5. Yakubu Aiyegbeni

Nigerian striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni played for many clubs in Europe and made cool money during his playing days especially in England.

Yakubu has investments in real estate with properties in England and Nigeria. In his home town, Benin City, he runs a hotel business and owns a number of petrol stations.
