More details emerge about 29-year-old Nigerian man who was found dead in his apartment in London

NAIJ.com earlier reported that a 29-year-old man identified as Johnny died after suffering stab wounds allegedly inflicted on him by his girlfriend.

Johnny whose real name is Mayowa Ogunbayo, was reportedly murdered on October 20, 2017, by a lady he had earlier proposed marriage to, following an argument.

The late entertainer who was friends with star footballer, Mario Balotelli, was found in a pool of his blood, in an expensive £550,000 flat he shared with his fiancée, a professional dancer, in Park Royal, West London.

Mayowa had relocated from Osogbo, Osun state, with his mother and three sisters, to study before setting up his own entertainment company upon graduation from the university of Kingston.

His friends have since sent out tributes in his honour. One of them, Ayodele Samson, wrote:

“The respectful gentleman. Mayowa was always very obedient and respectful. He loved the people around him and he was very loyal. He never looked down on people even when he got rich. The thing I liked about him is he didn’t drink or smoke he was always comfortable with water when he went to parties. He was looking his whole life for a good lady to settle down with and make his wife. He wanted a family more than anything. He was friends with so many stars in Nigeria and the world simply by being a social guy. We can’t believe this has happened, he was a complete gentleman.

He always made it clear to me that Mario Balotelli was a great guy and also very friendly. He said that I shouldn’t pay attention to his attitude on the pitch which led some people to criticise him. He was nothing like it off the field.”

Another friend identified as Oyedokun Mosh said:

“He was a young icon for Nigerians and was so hard working. His death is a great loss to the entertainment industry. He was so humble, even though he got successful he always kept his feet on the ground.”
