The family of Chidera Ezeanya, victim of a supposed ritual killing has sent a petition to the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris over the alleged murder of their son by one Ifeanyi Okpoko.
The incident was said to have taken place in Eziowelle, Idemili north local government area of Anambra state.
According to irukkanews, the petition is against Mr Ifeanyi Okpoko (Alias Anagwanti) and 7 others for conspiracy, kidnapping and ritual murder of late Chidera Ezeanya. It was sent to the Inspector General of Police, Force Headquarters, Edet House in Abuja.

The petition stated that at about 2am on Sunday night of October 1, 2017, one Ifeanyi Okpoko in company of some hardened criminals forcefully entered into the family house of late Chief Francis Ekwunife at Umunnama Village, Eziowelle,Idemili North local government area of Anambra state broke the door, kidnapped Chidera Ezeanya and whisked him away to an unknown destination, where he was cruelly murdered and some vital organs in his body taken away.
The petition went on to state that the ensuing search by the family members revealed that Ifeanyi Okpoko planned and executed the dastardly act with the members of his gang who have been terrorizing Ogidi and its environs.

“It was further discovered that their victim was taken to Ifeanyi Okpoko’s private house in Umunnama Village, Eziowelle, where he was sacrilegiously and inhumanly tortured to death by hanging for the purpose of rituals. The victim, late Chidera Ezeanya was mercilessly beaten to stupor while his two hands and two legs were tied together and was hanged upside down, which led to streams of blood running out from his ears and nostrils until he died. Late Chidera Ezeanya was only 16 years old, the petition read in part.
Continuing, the petition stated that further investigation and other information from the villagers revealed that Ifeanyi Okpoko was a terror, kidnap kingpin and a ritualist and that prior to this ugly incident has been involved in other heinous, cruel and dastardly acts .
“In the instant case, the circumstantial evidence going by the attached photograph of the scene of the inhuman torture of the victim by Ifeanyi Okpoko as visibly shown on the background carrying out the wicked act is cogent and compelling as to lead irresistibly to the conclusion that Ifeanyi Okpoko abducted and tortured his victim to death.

Available facts reveal that Human beings are inviolable . Every human being shall be entitled to respect for his life and integrity of his person. No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his right to live.
Therefore, our questions over this issues are:
Whether every person has a right to life, and no one shall be deprived intentionally of his life, save in the execution of the sentence of a court in respect of a criminal offence of which he has been found guilty in Nigeria
Whether every individual is entitled to respect for the dignity of his person?.
