The vice president, Yemi Osinbajo, on Monday, October 9, returned to Abuja after participating at the Financial Times Africa Summit in London.
The vice president upon his arrival is currently participating in the 23rd Nigerian Economic Summit at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja.

In a tweet on Tuesday, October 10, the spokesperson for the vice president, Laolu Akande said the present administration plans for a private sector driven economy.
Also speaking at the event, Osinbajo said there is now a willing buyer and willing seller plan, metering and off grid initiatives to reform the power sector.

He said low performances of DISCOS should be relieved to allow new investors.
He also assured that the federal government will make the process faster and the new management will be able to do more in regards to the power sector.

Among Nigerians who met with Osinbajo include Africa's richest man, Aliko Dangote, Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo state, the Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido, Emir of Kano and minister of information, Lai Mohammed.
Osinbajo also held a discussion panel with the Financial Times editor, Lionel Barber, about the Boko Haram insurgency in Nigeria.
