- President Muhamamdu Buhari is in a meeting with leaders of the Muslim community

- The meeting is taking place at the Presidential Villa

- The meeting between the president and Muslim leaders follows a previous meeting with the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria

President Muhammadu Buhari is currently meeting with leaders of the Muslim community at the President Villa.

The meeting with the Muslim leaders comes a few minutes after the president met with leaders of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).

The personal assistant to the president on new media, Bashir Ahmad, in a tweet posted a video of the meeting venue with participants.

Sighted at the meeting include the ministers of education, women affairs, FCT and interior; Adamu Adamu, Aisha Al-Hassan, Abdulrahman Dambazau and Mohammed Bello among many others.

The CAN delegation was led by its president, Reverend Samson Olasupo Ayokunle.

Others in attendance at the meeting on Friday, November 10, included, vice president Yemi Osinbajo, the national security adviser, Babagana Mongonu and some cabinet members.

NAIJ.com earlier reported that the president met with leaders of the Christian Association of Nigeria at the Presidential Villa on Friday, November 10.

It was gathered that the meeting is in furtherance of the effort made by the President Buhari's administration to ensure peace and unity among all Nigerians irrespective of their religion.

The president's meeting with the religious leaders comes shortly after the leadership of CAN called on the National Assmebly to compile a list of organizations Nigeria belongs to.

The association said the call by CAN is aimed at ensuring that the country is dropped from all religious organizations, treatis across the world.

In its communique: the christian association said: “CAN Calls of the National Assemblies to prevail on the states in the north of the country try to henceforth be issuing Certificate of Occupancy to the churches there to build their houses of worship.

That CAN Calls on the Federal Government to address the issue of breakdown of infrastructure such as roads, electricity supply, provision of adequate funding of health facilities in the nation so as to stop the untimely death of our people and medical pilgrimage abroad," CAN said.
