There is tension currently in Kaduna as students have reportedly taken to the streets in protest against the alleged sacking of teachers by the government of the state.
The Sun reports that the students, all from the public primary and secondary schools around Sabon Tasha, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna, said they would not allow the sacking of their teachers to hold.
Governor Nasir el-Rufai is currently planning to recruit new 25,000 teachers to replace the 21,000 who allegedly failed a competency test recently conducted by the government.
There was an earlier protest by pupils and students in Kawo, Kaduna North Local Government Area, on Monday, November 6.
