INEC creates 10 new continuous voters registration centres in each state, FCT

-INEC commission has created more CVR ahead of 2019 general elections

- INEC began the exercise on April 27 in line with the Electoral Act (2010 as amended)

- 672 more additional centres created across Nigeria since the commencement of the exercise

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has created additional 10 Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) centres in every state of the federation including the Federal Capital Territory.

Premium Times reports that the commission said it decided to increase the number of registration centres to enable all eligible citizens to register in the on-going CVR exercise ahead of the 2019 general elections.

NAIJ.com gathered that INEC began the exercise on April 27 in line with the Electoral Act (2010 as amended), and that 672 additional centres have been created across Nigeria since the commencement of the exercise.

The chairman of INEC, Mahmood Yakubu, commended the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators, ICMC for its partnership in the deployment of Electoral Alternative Dispute Resolution (EADR), in resolving electoral disputes.

The chairman, who was represented by the national commissioner, Adekunle Ogunmola in Abuja at the annual conference and induction ceremony of ICMC, expressed optimism that with greater partnership with the ICMC, there would be more awareness on the use of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), in resolving electoral disputes.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had previously reported that president Mohammadu Buhari has been assured of unflinching support in 2019 if he decides to seek re-election by the National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS), Zone B.
