- Investigations revealed that the woman had an agent in Kafanchan, Kaduna, who sourced for the children and sold them to her between N150,000 and N200,000
- 7 of the stolen children have now been identified by their parents in Kaduna; and the remaining 14 are reportedly receiving medical treatment
The Nigerian Police Force, Gwagwalada, FCT, Abuja, has arrested a middle aged woman for allegedly stealing 21 children from Kafanchan, Jema’a Local Government Area, Kaduna state.
According to The Sun, the unidentified woman was arrested alongside 4 accomplices.

NAIJ.com gathers that the suspects were allegedly in the business of buying and selling children before they were arrested.
The development was confirmed by ASP Aliyu Mukhtar, Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Kaduna Command, on Thursday, November 9.
Mukhtar disclosed that alarm bells began ringing when several parents in Kafanchan reported cases of missing children to the police, who then launched investigations into the matter.
The PPRO further disclosed that the case had been transferred to the Kaduna Police Command for further investigation even though the suspects had been apprehended by the Abuja Command.
He stated: “Yes I can confirm to you that we have a woman and four others who were arrested by federal police at a private house in Gwagwalada area for the offence called criminal conspiracy and child trafficking.
"21 children which she could not give account of, were found in her custody.
“The case is now within Kaduna command. Our investigations revealed that the woman has an agent in Kafanchan who sources for the children and sells to her between N150,000 and N200,000.
“Some parents had registered cases of missing children at our office in Kafanchan last weekend, and we commenced investigations which led to this arrest. We urge our people to give us useful information that can help us reduce crime in our society.
“As I speak with you, some parents have come around and they have identified seven of the children. We have the remaining 14 with us here.”
The remaining 14 children are reportedly undergoing medical examinations.

In a related development, NAIJ.com previously reported that one Pastor Chinedu (surname withheld) who heads a Pentecostal ministry in Ogidi Anambra state, was arrested for kidnapping and possession of 12 stolen kids.
The Delta state Police Command smashed Chinedu's syndicate which specialized in buying and selling of children.
The syndicate, which was allegedly led by the supposed cleric, was alleged to have kept 12 children in his custody.
