Presidency attacks popular media for 'untrue' reports about Buhari's appointments

- Presidency says the report was either ignorant of facts or intentionally misleading

- It outrightly rejected the report and went on to name its facts

- The Presidency's action comes just hours after it released full list of Buhari's appointees on Saturday, November 4

The Presidency has slammed a media report which claimed that President Muhammadu Buhari's appointments were skewed in favour of the northern part of the country where he comes from.

In series of tweets on its official Twitter handle on Sunday, November 5, the government accused a popular newspaper BusinessDay of reporting falsified facts.

It claimed that the facts were made either ignorantly or with the purpose of intentionally misleading the Nigerian public.

The Presidency's tweets comes just hours after it released a full list of all President Buhari's appointments so far in his over two years in office.

NAIJ.com had reported that the presidency on Saturday released a full list of all the appointments made by President Muhammadu Buhari since he assumed office on May 29, 2015.

Femi Adesina, the special adviser to the president on Media and Publicity released the list on Saturday night.

The presidency released the list in reaction to a newspaper publication in which northerners are alleged to have dominated President Buhari's appointments.
