Teachers sack: El-Rufai’s action has brought chaos in Kaduna schools - Shehu Sani

- Senator Shehu Sani, the chairman of the senate committee on local and foreign debts, representing Kaduna Central has reacted to the state teachers saga

- Senator Sani declared that Governor Nasir El-Rufai wanted to replace the teachers with loyalists

- He said said El-Rufai’s action has brought nothing but confusion in public schools in the state

Senator Shehu Sani, the chairman of the senate committee on local and foreign debts, Senator representing Kaduna Central, on Tuesday, November 7, said Governor Nasir el-Rufai to employ “politically loyal teachers” that will work for him as polling agents in 2019.

Daily Trust reports that Sani, who had been at loggerheads with El-Rufai, said the move stood condemned.

According to him, ''It’s inhuman and the height of lunacy by a man who derives pleasure by inflicting suffering and hardship on others.

''How can a governor who blew over N10bn feeding school children only now realise that the teachers are incompetent?.’’

''I commend my two other senators from Kaduna state: Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi and Senator Danjuma Laah, for their objection to the mass sacking of teachers in Kaduna state.''

He said el-Rufai’s action had brought nothing but “chaos and confusion in public schools in Kaduna.”

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that Nigeria Union of Teachers said dead people were listed among “teachers” that passed the test conducted for primary schools teachers in the state.

The NUT also alleged that names of senior staff, especially those on level 14 and above, were absent from among those that passed.
