Adeyemi Edun , an estate agent who allegedly helped former petroleum minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke, buy properties in the UK has been arrested in Nigeria.
Edun was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday, December 13, as he arrived Nigeria and is currently being held at the EFCC office in Ikoyi, Lagos, Premium Times reports.
EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed the arrest but didn’t give details.
He said: “I can confirm the arrest but I am not able to give details at this stage.”

An official of the EFCC handling the investigation also said: “He (Edun) is being held as part of investigations into Diezani’s multiple corrupt schemes.”
NAIJ.com gathered that Edun allegedly helped Alison-Madueke buy millions of pounds worth of properties in the UK.
Earlier, NAIJ.com reported that the Federal High Court, Lagos division on Tuesday, December 5 granted the EFCC temporary forfeiture of two properties allegedly belonging to Alison-Madueke.
The judgment came months after the federal government was granted permanent forfeiture of multi-billion naira properties and funds allegedly embezzled by the former petroleum minister.
