Governor Wike offers scholarship to talented 12-year-old musician

- Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has given N40m scholarship to a young Nigerian musician

- The scholarship is meant to cater for the boy's education from secondary to university level

- The young musician performs at the thanksgiving service in honour of Uche Secondus

A young musician, Nengi Jaja, has just won himself a mouth-watering scholarship of N40-million from the Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike, for his musical genius.

Nengi Jaja came up as a 2nd runner up in an international music festival where over 10000 youngsters performed.

NAIJ.com gathered that the scholarship of N40million will cover Jaja's education from secondary to tertiary level.

After the young musician's beautiful renditions, Governor Wike was moved to announce the scholarship on Sunday, December 24, at the State Ecumenical Centre in Port Harcourt. This happened during the thanksgiving service in honour of Prince Uche Secondus.

By the governor's directive, the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Province 5, is to open an account for the musician in agreement with his family for his tutelage.

He advised the church to provide the needed support for the boy so that he can fulfill his music dreams.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com reported that governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had revealed why they supported Prince Uche Secondus as party's new national chairman.

The governors claimed that they chose Secondus because of his strength, character and honesty. They described him as a staunch supporter of the party as well as a constant backbone to the governors during their trying times.

The governors made their statements at the thanksgiving service in honour of Secondus at the Rivers State Ecumenical Centre in Port Harcourt.
