Nigerian-born boxer who has represented England could be deported for illegal migration

- Boxer Bilal Fawaz who has represented Britain could be deported to Nigeria

- It was discovered that the 29-year-old was illegally migrated to the UK by his uncle

- The boxer is married to a British citizen but that union has been declared void

- Fawaz does not know his family in Nigeria and his parents illegally migranted to Nigeria

Boxer Bilal Fawaz who has lived half his life in England and represented the country six times faces being deported to Nigeria due to illegal migration.

The 29-year-old was detained at the Tinsley House Immigration Centre at Gatwick Airport in West Sussex on Nov 29.

Bilal who is from Hayes in Hillingdon has competed for England six times and was the 2012 ABA light-middleweight champion.

He came to England when he was 14-years-old albeit illegally by an uncle, he was told his father would be arriving soon, but the man never turned up.

The Daily Mail report that Fawaz, who calls himself Kelvin, was treated 'like a slave' before he ran away from the home he was living in and was taken into care.

He is now married to an English woman and has a turbulent upbringing.

The boxer went through a turbulent period involving gangs, getting shot once and stabbed a reported 25 times but he turned his life around after taking up boxing in 2011 at the Stonebridge Boxing Club in Brent.

He is currently ranked the third best middleweight in England.

But the Home Office have rejected his application to remain in the UK and declared his marriage to a British citizen void.

The athlete was arrested and taken to the Tinsley House Immigration Removal Centre in Gatwick.

Fawaz revealed that he has once fought for England against a Nigerian boxer and also said his parents were Lebanese immigrants to Nigeria, and they themselves didn't have Nigerian citizenship.

His mother is dead and he says he had 'no idea' where his father is.
