The Atiku WAZOBIA said former vice president Abubakar is capable to move Nigeria forward
- The national coordinator of the group Gabriel Churchill Chukwuemeka said the country needs a leader that does not practice nepotism
- Chukwuemeka, however, called on Atiku to come and save the country from collapsing
The national coordinator of Atiku WAZOBIA, Gabriel Churchill Chukwuemeka , on Tuesday, February 6, disclosed the group’s plan to hand over the south east region to a presidential aspirant, former vice president Atiku Abubakar.
Chukwuemeka said Nigeria needs a leader that is well experienced about the issue of governance and that does not discriminate.
Vanguard reports that he inaugurated coordinators of the group in the southeast region in Owerri.
He gave as the names of the coordinators as Chukwura Onochie, Anambra; Emeka Charles, Ebonyi; Uche Umazi, Abia; Kanayo Afunugo, Enugu; and Ikechukwu Ohanedo, Imo state.

Chukwuemka said: ''All of us have seen what this country has been turned into and we need a saviour that will rescue us from this bad governance.
''We need a leader that is well experienced about the issue of governance and that does not discriminate. We need a leader that does not practice nepotism.

''We need a leader that believes in equality and does not segregate along ethnic lines; a leader who believes in the collective interest of the different climes that make up a country.
“Because we are tired of this favouritism style of administration, we are calling on Atiku to come and save this country from collapsing. This is a move to ensure that the zone is carried along in the wind of positive change coming to Nigerians and also for the zone to speak in one voice.''
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that Aubakar allegedly met former president Goodluck Jonathan to consider offers made to him by a section of the leadership of the opposition party to return.
There are reports that some PDP chieftains are making efforts to bring Atiku back to the party’s fold but that he gave them conditions which include being given automatic ticket to contest the 2019 presidential election.
