Bayern Munich and Chelsea in race to sign Borussia Dortmund star

- Bayern Munich are preparing a bid to the tunes of about £88 million for Chelsea target Christian Pulisic

- The Bavarians are hoping they can sign the 19-year-old to replace Frank Ribery and Arjen Robben who are likely to quit the club this summer

- Meanwhile, current Premier League champions will hope they can use Michy Batshuayi as a bait to sign the player

German Budesliga side Bayern Munich will rival Chelsea for the signature of Borussia Dortmund teenage sensation Christian Pulisic.

The current Premier League champions have already pencilled the 19-year-old midfielder as a perfect replacement for Real Madrid-bound Eden Hazard at the end of the season.

And with the revelation of the USA international, the Bavarians are ready to give the Blues a run for their money over the acquisition of the youngster, who has been regarded as one of the brightest prospects in world football following his superb performances on the wing and as a playmaker.

Liverpool’s plot to sign the youngster in 2016 was turned down by Dortmund, while the 19-year-old has continued to attract attention from top European teams, but the biggest threat for the Blues is from Bayern who want Pulisic as they prepare to lose Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben.

Reluctant Dortmund know they cannot reject offers for too long from their rivals, which are reportedly preparing a bid of about £88million for the player.

The Alianz Arena team have also in the past lured players like Robert Lewandowski, Mario Gotze and Mats Hummels away from the Westfalenstadion.

But Chelsea have a upper hand with Michy Batshuayi on loan at Dortmund from Chelsea, and they (the Premier League side) might include the Belgian international in the deal to land their target this summer.

Pulisic joined Borrusia Dortmund youth team in 2016 and got promoted to the senior team the same year, and he has gone ahead to score 9 goals in 58 appearances for his side.

He also made his debut for the United States football team two years ago, with 9 goals in 20 matches for the team.

Before making his debut as a senior national team player, the 19-year-old represented his country at the U15 and U17 levels scoring 21 goals in 28 games in one year.

He was promoted to the U17 team and he scored 28 goals in 34 matches in the space of two years for his side.
