Businessman donates 2 vehicles to the Nigerian army for defeating Boko Haram (photos)

- A businessman, Dawud Makanjuola Akinola, has donated two vehicles to the Nigerian army

- Akinola donated the vehicles to appreciate the army for defeating Boko Haram insurgency in Nigeria

- Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai said that the vehicles would be inducted into the Theatre of Operations in the north

The Nigerian army has received the donation of two new vehicles in appreciation of its effort to end the Boko Haram insurgency in Nigeria.

This donation was made on Wednesday 7th February 2018, by an Ibadan based businessman and a patriotic Nigerian, Alhaji Dawud Makanjuola Akinola, the Aare Muslimi of Yorubaland, Delta and Edo states.

Akinola, while presenting the vehicles to the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General TY Buratai, at the Army Headquarters Abuja, stated that he was donating the 2 vehicles as mark of appreciation of the wonderful efforts of the Nigerian Army in the fight against terrorism and insurgency in the country.

In his response, the Chief of Army Staff, thanked Alhaji Makanjuola for the kind gesture. He further extolled the virtues of the of the dedicated Nigerian whose act of patriotism he noted, is exemplary and worthy of emulation.

The Lieutenant General Buratai also stated that the vehicles would be inducted into the Theatre of Operations in the north east as soon as possible.

Present at the formal presentation ceremony were some Principal Staff Officers and Directors at the Army Headquarters, as well as Some management staff of De-Damak Motors.

NAIJ.com previously reported that the defence minister, Mansur-Dan-Ali and top senior security officers have expressed their dismay over the alleged claim by Governor Kashim Shettima that Generals from the southern parts of the country were responsible for the return of peace in Borno state.

Shettima made the outburst during a town hall meeting of military and security agencies in Maiduguri.
