Chelsea are reportedly set to replace Antonio Conte with Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri this summer.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the Blues owner Roman Abramovich has had enough of Conte criticizing the club’s transfer policy despite nine new faces in the London club.

Ross Barkley, Emerson Palmieri and Olivier Giroud joined summer signings Alvaro Morata, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Danny Drinkwater, Antonio Rudiger and Davide Zappacosta as newcomers to Conte’s squad with Willy Caballero joining as a free agent from Man City.

And Abramovich believes the £227m spent to bring in these eight new faces should leave Conte with little room for dissatisfaction, but that is not the case as Conte on his part believes what Chelsea need is two or three world class players and not eight players that were bought during the summer and winter transfer window.

Abramovich is now reckoned to be planning the Conte’s downfall and Napoli boss Sarri could be the man replacing the former Juventus coach come the end of the season.

Sarri has led Napoli to the top of the Serie A table and is looking to seal their first title win since 1990.

Chelsea are said to have already opened talks with Sarri’s representatives, but the 59-year-old is sure to be offered improved terms to keep him in Naples.

Chelsea could get him for just £7million if they conclude a deal by May 31.

This follows comments by Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis who recently revealed that Sarri has a release clause in his San Paolo contract, allowing him to talk to elite clubs before its expiration this summer.

And according to the report, Chelsea are ready to meet the £7m fee.

Napoli owner De Laurentiis said: “Sarri is a wonderful person and a great coach. I am not worried that anyone will take him away because whoever wants him has to put £7m on the table.

“However, I would like to remove this clause and when we meet this month I will tell him. Maurizio has ethics. He was born in Naples and has returned to win. I don’t consider this experience as a stage in his career. I adore Sarri – for me he is the best in the world.

“I wish and hope he will be our coach for a long time. He speaks only about preparing for a game. He is like a 20-year-old who is always growing and evolving. He has a lot of improving to do.”

There is a reported crisis at Stamford Bridge over Conte insistent criticism on Chelsea's transfer policy.

The Italian who has only been in charge at Chelsea for 18 months, recently vowed to always speak his mind even if it cost his job.

Conte claims he is kept in the dark in transfer related activities in the club.

But the Chelsea hierarchy are reportedly angry over his constant criticism of the club's transfer directions despite spending a whopping £227 million in the transfer market.
