NAIJ.com gathers that a senior official stated that the recommendation was given for the mass sack after investigators were left unsatisfied with the explanations offered by some state coordinators and a clerk involved in the matter.
The official stated that the corrupt practices took place before the current JAMB registrar, Prof Ishaq Oloyede, assumed the leadership of the agency.
He stated that Oloyede is now “running the most transparent administration, and any official involved in any dishonest transaction will have himself to blame.”
A clerk at the Benue office had claimed that N36m gotten from sale of scratch cards had been swallowed by a mysterious snake.
The sum of N1.3m is also reportedly missing at the Ondo office; N31m is missing at the Edo office, while auditors have been unable to trace the whereabouts of N7m in Kogi state.
In Nasarawa state, N23m was discovered missing; while officials allegedly mismanaged N16m in Plateau state.
In Gombe state, N10.2m is still unaccounted for, N20m is missing in the Kano office, and in the Yobe office, N613,000 has been confirmed missing.
Dr Fabian Banjamin, the JAMB spokesman, has said all those found guilty might lose their jobs and also be prosecuted.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that following the missing 36 million from the office of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, its registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, slammed Nigerians that have been making jokes with it.
Philomena Chieshe, a sales clerk in JAMB office, Makurdi, had claimed that her housemaid connived with another JAMB staff, Joan Asen to "spiritually" swallow N36 million from the vault in her office.
During interrogation by a team of auditors, she claimed that Asen and her accomplices confessed that they had been stealing the money spiritually through a mysterious snake that always sneaked to swallow the money from the vault.
