A bill sent to the Ekiti state House of Assembly by Governor Ayodele Fayose to set up a state owned anti-graft agency called the Ekiti Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EECC) has passed its second reading.
The governor took to his Twitter page to announce that the bill has passed it's second reading while explaining that Nigeria is a federation and it must be ran like one, The Cable.

He tweeted: "A bill for the establishment of Ekiti Economic Crimes Commission (EECC) that I sent to the House of Assembly was today, sent to the House Committee on Public Accounts & Anti Corruption. It has passed 2nd reading.Nigeria is a federation and we must run it like one."

Recall that NAIJ.com previously reported that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has been restrained by the Federal High Court from investigating the finances of the Ekiti state government.
The court sitting in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday, January 30, held that the anti-graft agency lacked the powers to investigate the finances of a state, adding that in federalism, the federal government is not an overseer or supervisor regarding finances of a state.
