- Thieves burgled Philippe Coutinho's house while on a dinner date with his family
- The 25-year-old did not travel with his Barcelona teammates in their Champions League clash against Chelsea on Tuesday evening
Philippe Coutinho will not have a chance to watch his Barcelona teammates take on Chelsea live in Tuesday’s Champions League round of 16 first leg clash at the Stamford Bridge after his house in Catalonia was reportedly burgled by unknown men.
The 25-year-old, who made a whopping £142 million move from Liverpool to Camp Nou during the January transfer window, was out on a dinner date with his family when the incident occurred.
But only found out about the matter when he returned home from the dinner outing around 1.30am on Tuesday morning.

And this happened hours after the midfielder’s Audi car was earlier hauled away by the authorities on Monday.
Coutinho’s Catalonia home was selected by his neighbour, Luis Suarez ahead of his arrival at the Nou Camp, after the pair previously played together at Anfield.
And he is said to have immediately contacted police upon his return to the home to report the alleged burglary.

Coutinho is making some changes to the house, which apparently made it easier for the thieves to gain access.
The 25-year-old is ineligible to play for Barca in the Champions League having featured for the Reds during the group stage; but has scored one goal in his last seven appearances in all competitions.
