10-year-old boy reports his father to police for trying to sell family land

- The boy, Anthony Petro, discovered that his father, Petro Magogwa, was about to sell off their only family farm

- He said selling the farm was not a wise move but also admitted his 67-year-old dad was experiencing some financial difficulties

- The old man, who sells plastic bottles for a living, defended his decision to sell the family land citing financial constraints

A 10-year-old class one boy took his father to police after learning that the old man was planning to sell off their family farm.

NAIJ.com gathered that 67-year-old Petro Magogwa was about to hand over the family property when his son, Anthony Petro, dashed to Kabanga Police Station to halt the transaction.

According to Tanzania's local newspaper, The Citizen, young Petro, who studies at Ndugusi Primary School, was concerned that selling their farm was going to leave them landless.

He said though his father, who reportedly sells plastic bottles for a living, was experiencing serious financial headache, selling the family's only farm was not a good idea.

Elsewhere, a father abandoned his home after he failed to raise school fees for his son.

Isaac Oloserian Pelo from Oiti village, Naivasha, scooped 406 marks out of the possible 500 in the 2017 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and secured a slot at Moi Kabarak High School.

Unfortunately, Pelo's peasant father could not afford to take him to the prestigious national school.
