Eight passengers were allegedly kidnapped from a bus plying the Igboho-Igbeti road, Oyo state, by suspected Boko Haram terrorists on Thursday, March 15, Vanguard reports.
The passengers were reportedly told to alight and get into another vehicle parked by the roadside, by the terrorists, who were said to have emerged from a bush at Old Oyo National Park.

NAIJ.com gathers that the terrorists reportedly held the victims hostage in the bush for some minutes before taking them away.
According to a source, the victims were indigenes of Igboho and Ogbooro.
The incident was reportedly confirmed by the Oyo state public relations officer, Adekunle Ajisebutu. However, he differed on the number of people kidnapped.
According to the PRO, the state’s commissioner of police, Abiodun Odude, had dispatched his men to the area to search for those kidnapped.
A source who spoke on the condition of anonymity reportedly stated: “People in the area are now living in fear as there has been an influx of strange people.”

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) issued a red-alert on Thursday, March 15, warning residents of Borno state against an impending attack by the Boko Haram terrorist group using vehicles loaded with explosives.
According to the police, the planned attack may result in heavy casualty if it succeeds since the insurgents are suspected to be targeting strategic locations of the city that are densely populated.
A statement by the police command in Borno state, signed by Ahmed Bello, an assistant commissioner of police, said the attack could take place in different parts of the city. As a result, the security organs in the state have been mobilised to strategic locations to avert its possible occurrence.
