Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state has alleged that the war against Boko Haram is being used by certain individuals, to loot the treasury, Punch reports.
He made the comment in a statement released by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, on Wednesday, February 28.

NAIJ.com gathers that the governor noted that those benefiting from Internally Displaced Persons scams and payment of ransom (in dollars) to free those abducted by the terrorists, among others, would never wish to see the end of the insurgency.
Hence, he stated that the anti-insurgency war had become a business venture.
Fayose also raised an alarm about a possible conspiracy, as he reflected on reports that the military had withdrawn from Dapchi town in Yobe, just a few days before 110 schoolgirls were abducted.
He wondered why there had been no questions asked, despite the fact that conflicting claims had been made by the army and police.
He stated: “Painfully, it appears we will have to live with Boko Haram for a very long time because waiting for the President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government to save Nigerians is a waste of time.
“They boasted that Boko Haram will be defeated within three months; it is now more than 30 months.
“All that they have told Nigerians is grammar – Boko Haram technically defeated, Boko Haram completely defeated and now Boko Haram completely degraded.
“As long as the fight against Boko Haram remains a business venture, providing cheap money for top officials of this government, the insurgency will continue.
“President Buhari must, therefore, look inwards and purge his government of those benefiting from the insurgency if indeed he desires that it should end.”

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that Governor Ayodele Fayose issued a press release condemning the federal government on the Boko Haram insurgency.
Mr Idowu Adelusi, the chief press secretary to Fayose, issued a press release in which the governor argued that the terrorists were yet to be defeated and had not even been degraded.
He also stated that the dastardly acts being carried out by the insurgents showed that the All Progressives Congress-led federal government had not won the battle against the insurgency.
