The 25-year-old has been one of the key players in the French club since 2012 and played an instrumental role in the Parisians Ligue 1 success in the past few years.

With PSG dropping out of the Champions League again this season, it seems clear Veratti may be unable to lift the major honours he wants if he remains at the Parc des Princes.

Don Balon also stated that Verratti could certainly have a big role to play in Los Blancos midfield with doubts over Toni Kroos’ future after being linked with Manchester United.

According to the Independent, Kroos has been a target for Jose Mourinho, and Verratti is a similar style of player who could make an ideal replacement.

Zinedine Zidane men ensured qualification into the Champions League last eight after a 2-1 victory and the man in the middle, Veratti, was given his marching orders for a second bookable offence.
