Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, representing Bayelsa East constituency, on Tuesday, slammed President Muhammadu Buhari over an alleged over made by the president to help neighbouring country, Ghana, fight corruption.

Bruce, referring to the recent report by Transparency International on corruption in Nigeria, said the Buhari administration should focus more on combating the terrorism in Nigeria first.

Bruce, who made this statement on his Twitter page, also accused the presidency of fighting opposition instead of corruption.

He tweeted that: “If corruption is increasing in your nation, you make yourself a laughing stock if you promise to fight it in another nation. Charity begins at home.

“The major challenge facing President Buhari’s anti-corruption war is that for almost three years, it has been delivering activity instead of delivering results.

“They have been making noise instead of making news. They‘ve been practising propaganda instead of setting proper agenda."

Recall that NAIJ.com earlier reported that President Buhari was the only foreign leader invited to the event held at the Independence Square as Special Guest of Honour.

In his speech, he commended President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of Ghana for the warm reception and congratulated his strides in office.

Meanwhile, some media platforms reported that President Buhari, in his Ghana Independence Day speech, promised to help Ghana to fight corruption.
