Sad news for the entire Liverpool family as one of their legends, John Molyneux, has been reported dead at the age of 87.
The former right-full back joined the Reds in the summer of 1955 from Chester City and played his first game for the club in their 3-3 draw against second division side, Blackburn Rovers in September that year.
His first goal did not come until January 1958 in their FA Cup 3rd round replay at Roots Hall against Southend United, having shared the spoils in the first game at Anfield.

Liverpool again struggled again in that game but for Molyneux's 1st-minute strike, which helped them gain a 3-2 victory, with White (79th) and Tony Rowley (81st) scoring the remainder of their goals to progress to the next stage.
Molyneux became a super regular for Liverpool in his six-year reign at the club, scoring three goals in 259 appearances in all competitions.

He lost his position in the team when a new manager arrived to rebuild the team in a bid to regain promotion back to the top flight, an objective they achieved in 1961-62, John was limited to four appearances.
Having spent six seasons at Anfield, Molyneux departed Liverpool to re-join Chester in 1962, where he played for two seasons before finishing his career with New Brighton.
