The top of a mountain, 1,800 metres (5,900 feet) above sea level, have been flattened with dynamite by Chinese workers in Chongqing for the construction of 1.64 billion yuan (191.4 million pounds) Wushan Airport.
Daily Mail reports that the airport, located on the top of Taohua Mountain 15 kilometres (9.3 miles) outside Wushan Town in eastern Chongqing, is due to open in 2018.
NAIJ.com gathers that the domestic airport will have one runway measuring 2,600 metres (8,530 feet) long and 45 metres (147 feet) wide.
According to report, the domestic airport will also have an apron that could accommodate five planes.
Dynamite was used to blow up the mountaintop in order to create space for the airport. The project was said to have started six years ago and it is expected to be delivered by the end of June.

According to the the deputy director of the Wushan Airport project, on the busiest days, the construction site has more than 2,000 builders and 800 machines working at the same time.
The airport will offer flights to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chongqing and other major cities in China when it is open.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that former United States secretary of state, Rex Tillerson, on Thursday, March 8, warned African countries to be wary of the Chinese government and its loan facilities.
Tillerson told African countries to weigh Chinese loans carefully, adding that the United States was not trying to keep Chinese investment away from the continent.
