Just days after the 1993 accaimed leader of the June 12 election, Moshood Abiola, was honoured by President Muhammadu Buhari, his son, Abdulmumin has joined the race for the ticket of the national youth leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Abdulmumin on Wednesday, June 20, while speaking in Lagos said the youth in Nigeria need much direction the drive the nation's development.
He said since he returned to Nigeria in 2007, he had always been thinking about how to contribute to the system and make a difference.

Punch reports that Abiola's son, while speaking on the convention which is scheduled to hold on Saturday, June 23, in Abuja said he has been working hard to bridge the gap between youths in the country.
He said: “I have been working hard to bridge the gap among youths of the country for them to contribute their quota to Nigeria’s development.

“And I want to make it clear that I did not join the race for the youth leader of the APC due to the recent recognition of my late father by President Muhammadu Buhari; I want to make my own mark and I have consulted widely.
"The vibrant youth of the country will take advantage of the law to ensure their participation in the political landscape of the country," Abdulmumin said.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that a daughter of Abiola has apologised to President Muhammadu Buhari over incident that might have occurred within the June 1993 election and the death of her father.

Hafsat Abiola-Costello during the June 12 investiture in honour of her father and two others said things seem impossible until its done.
Apologising to President Buhari and his family, Hafsat said it is unbelievable that the president was used by God as an instrument to restoring honour to her father.
