Premier League top club targeting want away Borussia Dortmund star this summer

- Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing unsettled Dortmund player Mario Gotze

- The 26-year-old wasn't really impressive for his German League side last term owing to series of injuries

- He is however planning to join an English topflight side to revive his dwindling career

- Gotze was excluded from the German national team that will defend the title they won four years ago

Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Borussia Dortmund star Mario Gotze this summer.

The 26-year-old scored just two goals in 23 appearances for his German League side in the 2017-18 season.

Gotze's return to Dortmund in the summer of 2016 has been marred by series of injury and illness, and he is ready to seek a fresh challenge in England to revive his career.

Before returning to the Westfalenstadion two years after ago, he spent three seasons at Bayern Munich after joining them in a £32 million deal in 2013.

The German international made a total of 32 appearances for Dortmund last season in all competitions as his Bundesliga side finished fourth in the league.

His form at the start of last season awesome but suffered deep form after the departures of coaches Peter Bosz and Peter Stoger.

Gotze was ignored in the German squad that will defend the World Cup title they won four years ago in Brazil where he scored the winning goal in the extra minutes of the game.

And according to Football London, Spurs have been made aware of his availability and could make a move this summer.

Gotze could be available at a cut price £18m as new Dortmund boss Lucien Favre looks to make his own mark at the club.

Barca flop Andre Gomes is another schemer on Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino’s list alongside Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish.

Meanwhile, Pochettino could lose Mousa Dembele to Seri A with Juventus, Napoli and Inter Milan keen on the Belgian international.
