Champions League winner Real Madrid are targeting former Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas as Zinedine Zidane’s replacement, suggest reports.

The Frenchman took a surprise move to step down at the Santiago Bernabéu after guiding the Los Blancos to a treble win in Europe's most glamorous club competition, the Champions League.

Already, the Galaticos have been previously linked with the duo of Tottenham's Mauricio Pochettino as well as Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp , but it now appears that the La Liga giant's interest is lying elsewhere as they have now extended the search for the 'perfect' man to set into the seat vacated by the Frenchman.

According to a UK Sun report, citing sources at RMC report the Galaticos have established contract with Villas-Boas, who is currently unattached after leaving China Super League side, Shanghai SIPG.

However, one major reason for preferring the former Tottenham and Chelsea manager is reportedly due to the positive working relationship between AVB and Bale at North London.

It is on record that AVB's debut season at White Hart Lane till date, remains the Welshman best individual level after making the headlines as he won back-to-back Player of the Year awards before earning a world-record switch to the Santiago Bernabéu.

Sadly, AVB's reputation took a backward slide following a bad run in the English topflight, but managed to keep a healthy pedigree in European .

AVB worked previously with compatriot and Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho at Chelsea and Inter Milan before heading home in 2010 to mange Porto.

AVB grabbed the Portuguese league title without dropping a match, thus claiming a treble with further wins in the Portuguese Cup as well as Europa League.

With such pedigree, it was not a surprise that the 40-year-old Portuguese manager landed in the English topflight before coaching at Zenit St Petersburg and Shanghai SIPG.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously had reported that Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has reportedly emerged as the top candidate that will replace the Frenchman at Spanish club Real Madrid.

Zinedine Zidane shocked Real Madrid chiefs by announcing his exit after winning the 2017/18 UEFA Champions League title.
