NAIJ.com gathers that Bindow stated: "I cannot leave the APC. The people of Adamawa are happy with the APC government hence I have no reason to leave the party. Adamawa will remain an APC state.
“For me, there’s no opposition. The people will vote Governor Bindow because this is the best governor the state has ever had.”
Bindow further explained that only one of his commissioners resigned to seek elective office on the platform of the opposition party.
On his part, Governor Abubakar Bello also stated that he had no reason to exit the ruling party.
Making his position public via his coordinator of media and publicity, Jide Orintusin, Bello stated: “I remain a member of the APC and there is no wisdom leaving my beloved party. Three months ago, a special state congress of the ruling APC congress unanimously endorsed me and President Muhammadu Buhari by party members.
“We make bold to say that the Niger state governor and the people are for, and will remain in the APC and there is no going back.
“The state is absolutely committed to the APC in all ramifications; so why do we have to leave what belongs to us?”

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that governors in Nigeria elected on the platform of the APC will be meeting in Abuja, the capital of the country, to brainstorm on the best strategy to counter the mass defections that have hit the party.
A source stated in part: “More than 20 governors would attend; and they have a strong agenda which is to ensure that there would be no ripple effects in the states where we all know the bulk of the problem lies.”
