Police, they say, is your friend but that is not the reality in Nigeria today as youths across various social media platforms call out atrocities committed by the police, particularly men of the Special Anti-robbery Squad (SARS) almost on daily basis.
Unfortunately, it seems that as the agitation to disband the special squad increases among the Nigerian youths on social media through the #ENDSARS campaign, so also the atrocities of the special policemen increase.

NAIJ.com previously reported that a Nigerian human rights lawyer, Innibehe Effiong, pleaded for the complete overhaul of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris.
Effiong said operatives of SARS have become willing tools in the hands of Nigerians who could afford their services to deal with other citizens.
