Fayose commences allocation of shops Oba market (photos)

- The allocation of shops in the newly constructed Oja Oba market in Ado Ekiti has commenced

- The market was built by the Governor Ayodele Fayose-led administration

- The governor commenced the allocation of shops in fuilfillment of the promise he made to the people of Ekiti state

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state has commenced the allocation of shops in the newly constructed ultra modern Oja Oba (King's market) in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.

Punch report that Fayose stated that the allocation was in fulfillment of the promise he made to the indigenes that he would make market available before his tenure comes to an end.

NAIJ.com notes that the governor told prospective buyers at the market premises: “We use this as an opportunity for our people to benefit from government. When we were demolishing the old market we gave our word that we would ensure these people get the shops first.

"The only thing we can do is to create a level playing ground in which the people come to pick from the options of no and yes. If you pick yes, then you have won.”

According to Fayose, the ground floor would be sold for N200,000, while the price for shops on other floors would be communicated to prospective buyers in due course.

He stated that small scale traders who deal in perishable goods would occupy the ground floor, while big scale traders including boutiques would occupy other floors.

The governor called on those whom the ballot favoured to pay the required amount within seven days so that the opportunity won't be lost.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that Governor Ayodele Fayose finally reacted to the outcome of the Ekiti gubernatorial election describing it as rigged and blaming President Muhammadu Buhari.

Kayode Fayemi of the All Progressives Congress had defeated Professor Kolapo Eleka who is the deputy governor of the state in the July 14 polls.
