The family of late United Nations (UN) Secreatry-General Kofi Annan have indicated that the former diplomat will be buried in Ghana. According to reports by YEN.com.gh, the UN will also hold ceremonies in New York and Geneva.
The family made this information available on Thursday, August 23, according to Starrfmonline.com. The announcement also said the Government of Ghana will announce the state's plans for a ceremony in Accra.
It continued: “The dates for those events will be announced in due course.”

NAIJ.com had reported that Annan passed on Saturday, August 18, in Switzerland after a short illness. He has been mourned by politicians, athletes, entertainers and a whole host of others.
Annan was said to have fallen ill while on a trip to South Africa and had been flown back to his Switzerland base for treatment.
The widow of the deceased diplomat Nane Maria, however, disclosed to Ghana's president, Nana Akufo-Addo, in a phone call that he died peacefully in his sleep.
