Pep Guardiola reveals the 2 club that will contend with Man City for Premier League title

- Pep Guardiola has warned Liverpool and United to beware of City in the race for the title

- The Spaniard insists his City squad will get better without Kevin De Bruyne and Claudio Bravo

- The Etihad dwellers are the defending champions of the Premier League

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has cautioned the club’s Premier League rivals to expect more from the defending champions in the coming weeks.

According to a UK Mirror report, Guardiola remains optimistic of his team’s chances of winning the Premier League silverware back-to-back, despite losing the pair of Kevin De Bruyne and Claudio Bravo to injury as he stressed that the Etihad dwellers are yet to hit momentum.

At the last count the Citizens saw off Chelsea to claim the Community Shield before two Premier League wins over Arsenal and Huddersfield.

Responding to questions of complacency stepping in to derail their targets for the season the Spaniard said: “We leave a lot of opinions for outside, it doesn't affect what we think. The problem for us is we are not far away but we are still not fit.

“We see how much effort was spent by the players, normally the regeneration is quicker but they need more time because we didn't make a pre-season.

“They arrived and immediately played the Community Shield and the Arsenal game. A few players are much better but we need more time to get power and strength, we need to train for strength.

“This week we tried to do a lot of messages about strength and tactics because when there will be three games a week we will not have time to do that. Still, players complain about muscular problems.

"That's why Claudio is out and Kevin and this week Fernandinho had a few problems with regeneration after the game but that is normal - we demand a lot.

“We are still not in the best condition, that's why we have to take points now and hopefully after the international break we can be better and better.”

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously had reported that Brazilian forward Robert Firmino has issued a warning to Premier League defending champions Manchester City to beware as the Liverpool are gunning for the title.

According to a UK Sun report citing sources at Daily Mirror the 26-year-old Liverpool forward believes the Reds are capable of ending that Premier League drought this season.

Liverpool coughed out about £177m for quality additions in the summer to strengthen the Jurgen Klopp-tutored side and smashed West Ham in their opening Premier League fixture last week.
