We're gaining more grounds - Benue APC boasts as 2 governorship aspirants join its fold

- The PDP in Benue state has lost two of its governorship aspirants to the APC

- The defectors, Professor Eugene Aliegba and John Tion, made the move at the west local government area of the state

- Aliegba said that he joined the APC because of the leadership skills of President Muhammadu Buhari

Professor Eugene Aliegba and John Tion, formerly Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) governorship aspirants, have defected to the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the west local government area of Benue, The Nation reports.

The aspirants alongside their supporters left the opposition party for the APC at a ceremony in Naka, the headquarters the local government.

Aliegba revealed that he joined the APC because of the leadership prowess of President Muhammadu Buhari and that of Senator George Akume.

He vowed to work with the senator in achieving success for the ruling party in Naka and the whoe of Bnue.

A Benue state House of Assembly member representing Tarka, Mngutyo, speaking on behalf of Akume, said that with the massive number of those who attended the occasion, it was clear that APC is gathering formidable energy ahead of 2019.

Also speaking at the occasion, Felix Gbilagh, a member of the House of Representative for Gwer and Gwer west constituency, said that the people are solidly behind APC and their son, Chief Titus Zam.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com reported that Mark Gbillah, a member of the House of Representatives representing Gwer West/East in Benue, and over 8,000 members of the APC in the state had reportedly joined the PDP.

NAIJ.com gathered that Gbillah led the mass defection in Naka, headquarters of Gwer West local government area on Tuesday, August 28.
