- A few days to the Osun guber election, four members of the Osun state House of Assembly have defected from APC to ADC
- They cited neglect and insensitivity in the APC government as reason for their action
- They said only the ADC can deliver the Osun people's clamour for change
As the Osun state gubernatorial election draws nearer, the political tension in the state has soared up to an incredible height as gale of defections still continues to rock the state's political space.
Recently a lawmaker representing Odo Otin constituency, Oyediran Olaoluwa, and three other lawmakers at the Osun State House of Assembly have decided to pitch their tents with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) after a fallout with the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Olaoluwa who led the defection is from the same constituency with the former governor of the state , Olagunsoye Oyinlola.
Shedding light on the reasons for his defection, the lawmaker said he left his former party due to the problem of the insensitivity in the Aregbesola-led government and the neglect the people of the state were subjected to by the ruling party, Punch reported.

Oyediran said: “The APC has neglected and cheated the people of Osun without recourse to justice and equity. In this way, any right thinking individual or representative of the people ought to uphold fairness which only the African Democratic Congress is ready to provide.
“I am using this medium and veritable opportunity to recommend the ADC as a better alternative to bringing prosperity and happiness to citizens of Osun State.

The chairman of ADC in the Omoluabi state, Adelakin, while receiving those who defected with the lawmakers, said his party will provide an equal ground and justice for the defectors. He said: "The ADC is for all. This, I can assure our new members who joined us today. We don’t segregate here and we don’t operate like cults. We are one big indivisible family. So in the like manner, we are assuring our new members to see themselves as part of this wonderful family from the outset.”
