There is tension in River state after an explosive device suspected to be a dynamite exploded near the All Progressives Congress (APC) secretariat in the state.
The cable reports that the explosion at the APC secretariat on Sunday, September 30, was sequel to another an earlier one that went off by 11am at a distant location.
The news paper stated that suspected thugs who were reportedly being conveyed in a Toyota Camry were said to have dropped the explosive device at the party's secretariat and immediately drove off.

The hoodlums were said to have evaded security operatives stationed at the secretariat who rushed to the spot shortly after the device exploded.
However, no casualty or injury was sustained in the incident but the explosions are said to have heightened anxiety in the area.
In another report, the European Union, US and UK have released a joint statement expressing concern over the Osun state gubernatorial rerun election.

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Gboyega Oyetols was declared winner of the election which took place on Thursday, September 27.
There were however reports of intimidation in some of the polling units.
In the statement released by the EU, UK and UK, they expressed concern over the conduct of the election. They called for calm and promised to support the country for a free and fair election
