The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has promised to register business names within six hours of successful application.
The commission said it will ensure an effective deployment of information technology for registration of business names.
During the annual conference of the Nigerian Bar Association, the acting registrar of the commission, Azuka Azinge, said the move is part of efforts aimed at addressing some of the bottlenecks usually encountered during the registration of business names.

Punch reports that the registrar also assured that the commission understood the challenges usually encountered in the registration of companies.
Azinge said the management of the CAC was working towards deploying a more robust application to drastically improve the situation.
Furthermore, the registrar said the CAC is focused on deploying application that would help self-generation of certificates.

She said the CAC has automated all state offices while manual registration of companies had been closed since April 2018.
