Adamawa state government has declared its loyalty to President Muhammadu Buhari as a candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2019 presidential election, while refusing to back former vice president, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who emerged as the presidential candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The state commissioner for information and strategy, Sajoh Ahmed, at a briefing, on Monday, October 8, said President Buhari had done enough for Adamawa since he became president, to make the people prefer him to other candidates.

The commissioner, who did not mention Atiku’s name in his initial address, noted that an Adamawa politician, winning the presidential ticket of a major opposition party was a major is a factor,
Ahmed however, stated that Governor Jibrilla already had his party’s candidate and would always choose reality over promises.
Meanwhile, Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has fired back at the Buhari campaign organisation which had suggested that his emergence as the main opposition standard bearer in next year’s election was the result of money politics.

Nigerian Tribune reports that a statement issued on Monday, October 8, by Atiku's campaign organisation in Abuja, observed that the presidential candidate was not surprised that his emergence has caused confusion in the camp of President Muhammadu Buhari.
NAIJ.com gathered that he noted that various acts of corruption were being committed under the present administration, which he said caused Transparency International to classify the country as a more corrupt country now than it was three years ago.
He said that the choice before Nigerians was between a candidate who has provided over 50,000 jobs to people in his personal capacity and the other under whom 11 million Nigerians have lost their jobs.
