The governorship primary of the Lagos chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is reportedly set to be moved again, following the intervention of the national secretariat of the ruling party, in the crisis rocking the chapter.

NAIJ.com notes that the incumbent governor of Lagos, Akinwunmi Ambode, is being challenged for the APC’s 2019 gubernatorial ticket, by Jide Sanwo-Olu, who has the backing of the party’s national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
The primary had previously been moved to Monday, October 1, in the hopes that a resolution could be found for the crisis between Ambode and Tinubu.
Speaking on the alleged postponement, a source in the party’s national exco reportedly stated: “For instance, Ambode does not even have the new APC membership card.
“He cannot vote if the primary holds on Monday. The producers of the card did not hand over the cards to the national secretariat as expected but handed them directly to the Lagos party exco.
“This has led to a lopsided distribution that may impact on the final result.”
The distribution of the membership cards is allegedly not in favour of Ambode, who launched an astonishing attack against Sanwo-Olu on Sunday afternoon, September 30.
Comrade Adams Oshionhole, the APC national chairman, is reportedly scheduled to arrive in Lagos state on Monday, to personally ensure that the crisis is resolved.
The deadline for all parties to nominate their governorship candidates is Sunday, October 7.
