- Gernot Rohr has praised the character of squad members during Nigeria's 3-2 win over Libya
- Nigeria surrendered a two-goal lead to allow the Libyans get back to the contest before Odion Ighalo scored the winner
- The Eagles will battle South Africa's Bafana Bafana in their next 2019 AFCON qualifier in Johannesburg
Super Eagles Franco-German manager Gernot Rohr has hailed the character of his players, during Tuesday night hard-fought 3-2 win over Libya Mediterranean Knights, in a 2019 AFCON qualifying match at Stade Taïeb Mhiri, Sfax, Tunisia.
The encounter saw the three-time African champions cruising to a two-goal lead, after goals from Odion Ighalo and Ahmed Musa. But the Libyans looked a better side after Nigeria's two goals in three minutes.
Goals from Mohamed Zubya and Ahmad Benali brought them back into the game. The closing moments was a dicey one for the Gernot Rohr tutired-side, as the Libyans came all out for the lead, but Ighalo executed a skillful display, to see off two defenders before netting the winner for Nigeria in the 81st minute.
Despite other attempts by the host to get back to the game, the Eagles held on, to claim maximum points at the blast of the final whistle.

Reacting after the game, during his post-match analysis, Rohr said ''I congratulate my team for this victory. It was a huge test of our character. We lost a two-goal lead but fought hard instead of dropping our heads.
''We will stay humble because we have not qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations yet. We keep fighting.''
