Violence erupts at APC gubernatorial primary in Northern state; angry crowd prevents governor from voting

Bauchi state governor, Mohammed Abubakar, was prevented from voting at his ward during the governorship primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC), by an angry crowd.

According to Channels, voting could not take place, as the election was disrupted.

NAIJ.com gathers that some aspirants subsequently pulled out of the race and called for its cancellation on the grounds that they lacked faith in the process.

Recall that NAIJ.com previously reported that one person was reportedly killed in Boi, Bogoro local government area of Bauchi state on Monday, October 1, while trying to vote in the gubernatorial primaries of the APC, just as two others were said to have been hospitalised for gun shots wounds by yet to be identified person.

The allegations were made by two of the contestants in the APC gubernatorial primaries, Yakubu Ibrahim Lame, and Mohammed Ali Pate, while briefing journalists at the NUJ press centre on Monday evening, on the conduct of the exercise.
