Gunmen abduct Zamfara assistant commissioner of police

- Adeniyi was reportedly kidnapped while driving along Katsina/Kaduna road

- Shaba Alkali, the state commissioner of police, has confirmed the incidence

Emmanuel Adeniyi, Zamfara state assistant commissioner of police, attached to the state police command in charge of Criminal Investigation Department (CID), has reportedly been abducted by some gunmen suspected to be notorious kidnappers.

New Telegraph reports that Adeniyi was kidnapped on Wednesday, September 27, while driving along Katsina/Kaduna road on his way back to Gusau the capital of Zamfara state.

NAIJ.com gathered that a principal officer attached to state command of the CID who spoke on the condition of anonymity confirmed the incidence.

Three police officers including assistant supretandant of police, a sergeant and one corporal were said to have been previously kidnapped by armed bandits from a police post of Keta town under Tsafe local government area of the state.

The were, however, released after a joint intervention by the state government and the state police command.

Shaba Alkali, the state commissioner of police was said to have also confirmed the incident.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that the state police command on Wednesday, September 27, intercepted two vehicles carrying arms in different parts of the state.
